Baker, which occurred at her home on February 8, at 10 p.m., following an illness that became serious about two months ago. Medical attention and the devoted care of her son, Cecil, and his wife, alleviated her suffering, but failed to prolong her life. Baker, which occurred at her home on February 8, at 10 p.m., following an illness that became serious about two months ago. Medical attention and the devoted care of her son, Cecil, and his wife, alleviated her suffering, but failed to prolong her life. A daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Levi Fancy, she was the last surviving member of their family, and was born May 5, 1868. Her husband, Joseph R. Baker, predeceased her nearly six years ago. Surviving are two sons: Cecil, at home; Malcolm, Italy Cross; three daughters, Idnella (Mrs.John Spearing), Cambridge, Kings County; Edith (Mrs. Andrew Grant), California; and Freda (Mrs. Roy McLain), Newcombville. There are also 15 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. Three sons and two daughters predeceased their mother. In her early youth, she united with the Baptist Church and continued a faithful member. Her quiet, unassuming personality won all hearts and she was beloved by young and old. She will be missed in the community as well as in the family circle. The funeral service at the home and Union Church were conducted on February 10, at 2 p.m., by the Rev. D.L. Kennedy, pastor of the Baptist Church, Bridgewater. The comforting themes of memory and immortality were stressed by the speaker, and the choir rendered the hymns, "Safe in the Arms of Jesus," "When the Roll," and "What A Friend." Pall-bearers were Frank Carver, Amos Wentzell, Purdy Bolivar, and Harry Aulenback, all friends and neighbours of the deceased.
