Cecil Baker at his home at an early hour on Monday morning, February 25 th, 1974. Born at Baker Settlement, February 6, 1900, he was the son of the late Joseph and Mary (Fancy) Baker and lived his entire life in that community. Cecil Baker at his home at an early hour on Monday morning, February 25 th, 1974. Born at Baker Settlement, February 6, 1900, he was the son of the late Joseph and Mary (Fancy) Baker and lived his entire life in that community. Although in declining health for some time, his passing was unexpected and many will remember him as a kind friend and neighbour, always ready to lend a helping hand in time of need. In 1933 he married the former Flora McLain of West Clifford who survives; also one son, Richard, who resides at home; two sisters, Edith (Mrs. Andrew Grant), Oakland, California; Freda (Mrs. LeRoy McLain), Newcombville; also one granddaughter, Pauline. He was predeceased by three brothers and four sisters. Funeral service was conducted on Wednesday afternoon at Wamback's Memorial Chapel, Bridgewater, with Rev. Maitland Jones of the New Canada United Baptist Church officiating, who spoke words of comfort from various passages of Scripture, with the choir rendering the hymns, "What A Friend We Have in Jesus" and "Sweet Hour of Prayer." Interment was in the family plot in Baker Settlement Cemetery. With thanks to Rosemary Rafuse.
