Here she lived until her eleventh year when the family came to this country and settled near Pilot Mound, Iowa. She lived there until her marriage to Julius Amme in 1881. Here she lived until her eleventh year when the family came to this country and settled near Pilot Mound, Iowa. She lived there until her marriage to Julius Amme in 1881. They lived near Scranton, Iowa and later moved to Boone which was her home until her death, Friday, July 17, at 8:15 p.m. There is left to mourn her loss a husband and five children, Mrs. V.E. Bentley, Mrs. Myrtle Breneman, Fred H., Louis E. and Clyde W., one son Edward W., preceding her in death thirteen years ago; four grandchildren, one brother, B.P. Holst and one sister, Mrs. Joseph Adamson, of Pilot Mound, and other relatives and a large number of friends. Her sickness covered nearly one year, she taking sick August last. After a period of sickness, failing to receive any benefit from her home physicians she spent several weeks at the Nevada sanitarium, but this failing she was returned home. After her return for a time her life was despaired of, but owing to her strong constitution and wonderful vitality, rallied and seemed to be on the road to recovery, but as the time passed became weaker and weaker, until it was found that she had not long to live. During her life she was a loving wife and mother and a faithful friend. In the long months of her battle with death she co-operated with wonderful patience and fortitude, with those about her to stave off defeat which all knew could not be far off. The funeral was held from the home at 1622 Crawford street at 2:30, the Rev. Otto Erbe of the German Lutheran church being in charge of the services. The interment was in Linwood Park cemetery, east. The flowers on the bier were many and beautiful, being a token of the love and esteem she was held by her many friends.
