Description	:	Mary Ellen Joy was born in Scranton, Luzerne county, Pa., December 27, 1846 and died at Beaver Crossing, Nebraska, December 27, 1926, at the age of 80 years. In 1855 she moved to Jefferson county, Iowa, where she was married to John A. Knerr in 1866. They moved on their homestead four miles north of Beaver Crossing, Nebraska in 1871. To this union were born seven daughters and two sons. All are living except one daughter who passed away on Febr. 1, 1917. Her husband passed away March 14, 1918. In 1903, she, in company with her husband, moved to Beaver Crossing where she resided until death claimed her. Grandma Knerr was well known and loved by everyone who knew her. She was always doing for others, practiced the Golden Rule and believed that it is more blessed to give than to receive. Funeral services were conducted by Rev. F. E. Drum at the home of Ross Peterson yesterday afternoon and interment was made in the Beaver Crossing cemetery.
