Death was caused by complications, brought on by advanced age. Born in 1856, the deceased was eighty-two years of age and was the daughter of the late Samuel Lawson and Ella Tawes Lawson, who were among Crisfield's first and finest families. Tawes Mrs. Mary E. Tawes, one of Crisfield's most highly respected citizens, passed away at her home on Wednesday morning of this week. Death was caused by complications, brought on by advanced age. Born in 1856, the deceased was eighty-two years of age and was the daughter of the late Samuel Lawson and Ella Tawes Lawson, who were among Crisfield's first and finest families. She was the widow of the late Leonard S. Tawes, who died early in January, 1932. Mrs. Tawes possessed many fine and wonderful traits of character. She was of the sweet, motherly type, whom to know was instantly to love and she could boast of a legion of friends who loved her dearly. A fine, upstanding Christian woman, Mrs. Tawes will be sadly missed by all who were fortunate enough to make her acquaintance. She is survived by two children, Dr. Patrick H. Tawes, of Cambridge, Md., and Mrs. Naomia Hall, of this city, and three grandchildren. One sister, Mrs. Marjorie Sterling, of Crisfield, also survives. Funeral services will be held from her late home this afternoon at 2:00 o'clock with the Rev. C. M. Elderdice, pastor of the Mt. Pleasant M.P. Church, officiating.
