Description	:	JONES, MARY ELLEN—Mary Ellen Thomas was born at Spring Green, Wis., December 18, 1863. She departed this life at her home in Lincoln, Neb., June 1, 1928, at the age of 64 years, 5 months and 13 days. She was united in marriage to James M. Jones, her childhood playmate at Spring Green, Wis., February 6, 1884. Immediately afterward they came to Nebraska to make their home, residing here continuously with the exception of two years spent on a homestead in Colorado. She departed this life at her home in Lincoln, Neb., June 1, 1928, at the age of 64 years, 5 months and 13 days. She was united in marriage to James M. Jones, her childhood playmate at Spring Green, Wis., February 6, 1884. Immediately afterward they came to Nebraska to make their home, residing here continuously with the exception of two years spent on a homestead in Colorado. To this union were born seven children, Ralph of Liberty, Neb., Mrs. Will Lauenstein of Geneva, Glenn of Pittsburgh, Pa., and Enid, Verne and Ruth at home, who, with the husband survive. One daughter, Maude Ellen preceded the mother in death. She is also survived by six grandchildren and one uncle, David L. Thomas of Lincoln, besides other relatives. Early in life, she was converted to the Christian faith and she lived a consistent Christian life. She was a devoted mother, giving all her time and energy in the care of her home and family. The funeral services were conducted at 10 a.m. Monday, June 4, at Lincoln by Rev. Thomas Griffiths and at Geneva at 2:30 that afternoon at the Congregational Church by Rev. David Tudor. Interment was in the Geneva Cemetery. All of the children were in attendance at these services. The sympathy of many Fillmore County friends is extended to this family in the loss of this most worthy wife and mother. The Nebraska Signal June 7th, 1928 page 1.
