She was born July 24,1911 at McDowell, a daughter of Wilbur and Elva Botkin Ervine. On June 16, 1927 she married Russel E. Bowers, who preceded her in death March 6, 1978. She was a homemaker and a member of the Methodist church. She belonged to the Highland County Senior Citizens. She is survived by three daughters, Mona Mae Helmick of Staunton, Thelma Arbogast of Richmond, and Dorothy Vandevander of Monterey; a son, Melvin Bowers of Franklin, W Va.; a brother, Roscoe Ervine of Baltimore, Md; 10 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren. A funeral service was conducted at 11 a m Monday March 25 in the Obaugh Funeral Home by Pastor Malcolm (Chip) Hill. Burial was in the Bowers Family Cemetery.
