She was preceded in death by her husband, George Ray Helmick; her son, Martin Ray Helmick; and her brother, Russell Judy Bowers. She is survived by a son, Garland S. Helmick of Staunton; two sisters, Thelma Arbogast of Richmond and Dorothy Vandevander and husband, Arnold of Monterey; brother, Melvin Bowers of Franklin, W.Va.; and special friends, Sandy Allen and Jessica Downs.A graveside service will be held at 3 p.m., Saturday, Oct. 6, in the Rexrode-Bowers Cemetery, Possum Trot Road, Monterey.
