Langford, 88, died at Hilltop nursing home at 1:17 p.m. Sunday. She was born June 11, 1869, at Kewanee, Ill., the daughter of Henry and Jane Hudson. She had been a resident of Ottumwa for the past 85 years. Mrs. Langford came to Ottumwa in a covered wagon. She was a member of the Baptist church. Surviving are a son, Herbert H. Mintonye of Manistique, Mich.; a daughter, Mrs. Estella Vander Linden of Ottumwa; four granddaughters; 10 great-grandchildren; a niece, Mrs. Olive Wyatt of Ottumwa; and a nephew, Carl Mintonye of Pine Tree. She was preceded in death by her husband, Earl, in 1918; a son; two half-brothers and a half-sister. Funeral services will be at 3 p.m. Thursday at the Johnson funeral chapel in charge of Sr. Maj. Walter Lee of the Salvation Army. Burial will be in Shaul cemetery.
