Read More	From a 1914 Nance County, Nebraska, newspaper clipping file, transcribed by Linda Berney: Marietta Johnson, daughter of Wallace and Mary Johnson, was born near Trenton in Hitchcox Co., Nebr., on July 1, 1892 and fell asleep at her home in Fullerton at 1 a.m. Tuesday, March 3rd at the early age of 21 years, 8 months and 2 days. Of her mother's family of six children, three brothers and two sisters survive, also the father and two children, one brother Jesse of Friend, Neb. and Miss Triphene who is teaching near Belgrade, were present at the funeral. In very early life she was bereft of a child's dearest friend, in the death of her mother, and at the age of two and one half years she came to Fullerton where she has since lived, here she attended school, here she labored and loved, and on December the 22, 1910, she was united in marriage to James Mahoney, to this union one daughter, Margaret, aged 20 months was born and is not yet able to realize the loss she has sustained. In Mrs. Mahoney's childhood she was baptized and in youthful years she attended the Sabbath School of the Methodist Episcopal Church, at this place. Mrs. Mahoney's last illness was somewhat extended and her husband and friends fully expected her recovery, but in the last two weeks the weary days have been full of anxiety, her friends vieing between hope and despair, loving relatives and neighbors tenderly watched by her bedside, her physicians gave unceasing attention, all that skill and love of faithful friends could bestow, was unavailing, and the frail flower of mortal life just ready to bloom into full womanhood, withered as with an early frost. On Tuesday morning, just after the midnight hour, with her dear ones near, she passed from the little circle to no more gladden her earthly home "and was not, for God took her." [Another clipping indicated she died from blood poisoning.]
