February 15, 1938 - Carroll Daily Herald - Mrs. Albert Copp, 66, virtually a life-long resident of Carroll county, died at 5:30 Tuesday morning at the St. Anthony Hospital after a long illness, caused by a complication of ailments. Read More	Mayme was the daughter of Michael Schmich and Louisa Dabel. She married Albert Copp on 27 November 1907 in Carroll, Iowa. They were the parents of Harriet. February 15, 1938 - Carroll Daily Herald - Mrs. Albert Copp, 66, virtually a life-long resident of Carroll county, died at 5:30 Tuesday morning at the St. Anthony Hospital after a long illness, caused by a complication of ailments. She had spent the greater part of the last year in the hospital. The body is at the Gregory Funeral Home, where it will rest until the funeral services, arrangements for which have not been completed. The rites, which will be at SS. Peter and Paul's Church, will probably be held Thursday morning. Mrs. Copp was the only daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Michael Schmich, well-known Carroll county pioneers. She was born Mayme Schmich at Freeport, Illinois., Sept. 10, 1871. In March, 1877 the family came to Carroll county to make their home on their farm north of Carroll, which is known as the Schmich homestead. She attended the rural school in her district and also SS. Peter and Paul's School in Carroll. Before her marriage to Albert Copp, which took place in 1908, she clerked at Strohm's Store. She and Mr Copp have made their home in Carroll ever since their marriage. Surviving Mrs Copp are her husband and daughter, Harriet and three brothers: Charles Schmich of Carroll, Ed Schmich of Tyrell, Iowa and W.J. Schmich of Carroll. She was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers: George Schmich and Frank Schmich. Mrs. Copp was a member of SS. Peter and Paul's Church of Carroll. Mr. and Mrs. Ed Schmich of Tyrrell will arrive here Tuesday afternoon.
