Description	:	OBIT: Mrs. Mary Florence Champie, 83, an early day resident of the Kittitas Valley, died at 10 o'clock his morning at the Airway Nursing Home. She had been an invalid for the past 12 years and had been at the nursing home since June 1, 1950. She was born September 15, 1871 at Nemaha City, Nebraska and came west with her parents, the late Mr. and Mrs. Jim Crawford. They lived in Oregon for several years before moving to Goldendale. Read More	OBIT: Mrs. Mary Florence Champie, 83, an early day resident of the Kittitas Valley, died at 10 o'clock his morning at the Airway Nursing Home. She had been an invalid for the past 12 years and had been at the nursing home since June 1, 1950. She was born September 15, 1871 at Nemaha City, Nebraska and came west with her parents, the late Mr. and Mrs. Jim Crawford. They lived in Oregon for several years before moving to Goldendale. Mary Crawford was married to George Champie at Goldendale on November 19, 1890. They moved to the Kittitas Valley in 1897 and lived on a West Side farm for many years. Champie preceded her in death in 1943. Mrs. Champie is survived by three daughters, Mrs. Cleofa Burton of Cathlamet, Mrs. Mary Bunger of Prosser, and Mrs. Eula Bunger of Selah; four sons, Charles J. Champie of Ellensburg, Marion Champie of The Dales, Ore., Ray and Joseph Champie of Seattle; two sisters, Mrs. M. B. Kelley of Goldendale and Mrs. Emma Morehead of Redmond; 29 grandchildren and 57 great grandchildren. The Rev. Dan Rueb will officiate at funeral services for Mrs. Champie at 11 a.m. Saturday at the Evenson Chapel. Burial will follow at the IOOF Cemetery. Ellensburg Daily Record, February 22, 1955
