Description	:	Mary Frances "M.F." Jahnke, 84, of Waverly, Iowa, died Tuesday morning, November 21, 2006 at the Waverly Health Center of natural causes. Mary Frances was born on July 9, 1922, in Birmingham, Alabama, the daughter of Charles and Mary Jo (Breedlove) Hoehn. Mary Frances attended school in Birmingham, graduating from the Woodlawn High School in 1940. Mary Frances was united in marriage to W.R. "Bill" Jahnke on February 21, 1944, in Seymour, Indiana. Jahnke, 84, of Waverly, Iowa, died Tuesday morning, November 21, 2006 at the Waverly Health Center of natural causes. Mary Frances was born on July 9, 1922, in Birmingham, Alabama, the daughter of Charles and Mary Jo (Breedlove) Hoehn. Mary Frances attended school in Birmingham, graduating from the Woodlawn High School in 1940. Mary Frances was united in marriage to W.R. "Bill" Jahnke on February 21, 1944, in Seymour, Indiana. Following World War II, the couple moved to Bremer, Iowa, moving into Waverly in the early 1950's. Bill died on August 13, 2002 and Mary Frances continued to live in her home until December of 2005 when she became a resident of the Bartels Lutheran Retirement Community. Mary Frances was a longtime member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, where she was active with the C.C.W. She was also a 4-H leader and enjoyed baking, sewing, crafts and had a great love for animals. Mary Frances is survived by her daughter, Jan Dewey of Omaha, Nebraska; one son and his wife, Mike and Sharon Jahnke of Waverly, Iowa; five grandchildren, Michelle Hanna and her husband, Mike of Elkhorn, Nebraska, Lisa Vaske and her husband, Jeff of Omaha, Nebraska, Lesley Fortun and her husband, Angelo of Omaha, Nebraska, Alicia Jahnke of Waverly, Iowa, Brant Jahnke of Urbandale, Iowa; five great grandchildren; and two sisters, Charlotte Gardner and her husband, Bob of Alabaster, Alabama and JoAnne Victory of Alabama. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Bill, and a sister, Audrey McGiboney. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, November 24, 2006 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Waverly, with Fr. Mike Tauke presiding. Burial will be in St. Joseph's Catholic Cemetery in Waverly. Public visitation will be held on Thursday from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. with a public Scripture Service at 7:00 p.m. Memorials may be directed to the family where a fund will be established at a later date.
