Lasley was born at St. Albans, Va, March 4th 1832 and died in Shelbina at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Willie C. Blackburn, Tuesday August 27 1912 at 7:30 a.m. Deceased was married November 8th, 1853, to Samuel H. Cox, and came to Missouri with him, settling on a farm southwest of here, where they lived most of their lives, except a few years spent in this city while Mr. Cox was engaged in teh mercantile business. After the death of her husband in 1896, she went to Shelbina and made her home with her daughters, Mrs. Willie C. Blackburn and Mrs. W. A Vance. To this union five children were born, all of whom survive. They are, Charles and Matthew of this city; James, of Quincy; Mrs. W. C. Blackburn and Mrs. W. A. Vance of Shelbina. Deceased was a very religious woman and a believer in the Methodist doctrine. Her traits of character endeared her to all who knew her, and she will be remembered by a large circle of friends here and at Shelbina. Funeral services were held at Shelbina Wednesday at 12:30 p.m., conducted by Revs. Tompson Penn and I. T.
