Description	:	Mrs. Mary Green died at her home on the south side, Tuesday morning after an illness of about ten months duration. Mary Gallagher was born in Cork, Ireland, December 22, 1849 and came to Scranton, Penn., when but two years of age. She was married to John Green in 1867. They came to Knox county, Nebraska in 1879. Nine children were born to them, the eldest dying in infancy. Her husband preceded her in death, as did also her son, John S. Green Jr., who died in 1908. Mrs. Green is survived by six sons, William H.; Joseph F.; Patrick H.; Frank L. of Creighton; Thomas C. of Center and James H. of Montana and one daughter, Mrs. Phil Tomek of David City and but one brother. P.W. Gallagher of Scranton, Penn. Funeral services were held at the Catholic church in Creighton, Thursday morning at nine o'clock. Rev. Thomas Walsh of Battle Creek, assisted by Father McNamara of Bloomfield and Father Windolph celebrated the mass. Interment was made in St. Ludger cemetery. Honorary pallbearers were Mesdames Martha Ryan, Catherine Ryan, Mrs. Tyler, Mrs. John Huigens, Josephine Theisen and Mrs. Frank Kain. Active pallbearers were the six sons, who survive. No finer tribute can be paid to the memory of a departed one than that said by Rev. Thomas Walsh in his brief eulogy over the deceased mother today. "She had been a noble benefactress in leaving behind her a name to revere." Mrs. Green was of the noble pioneers--a woman with all the virtues of a venerable mother--she, with a fortitude of love for all that is good. Her memory can but serve to remind her friends of that personal love for which she was so widely known.
