Lowery, who died yesterday afternoon at 1:30 o'clock, was conducted from the Frist Baptist church this afternoon at 3:00 o'clock by Rev. W. C. Tyree, her pastor. Lowery, who died yesterday afternoon at 1:30 o'clock, was conducted from the Frist Baptist church this afternoon at 3:00 o'clock by Rev. W. C. Tyree, her pastor. Mrs. Lowrey [sic] had been in poor health for some time, though her death was not expected at this time. She was 50 years old, and is survived by her husband and seven children, five of whom were by her first marriage, these being Macon Baker, of New York; Roy Baker, of Rocky Mount; Joe Baker, Henry Baker, and John Baker, and Misses Annie and Carrie Lowery by her second marriage. Mrs. Lowery was an earnest Christian worker and was held in high esteem by all who knew her. The interment was in Oakwood cemetery. The following were pall-bearers: Active, Messrs. C. J. Hunter, T. H. Briggs, W. N. Jones, John E. Ray, John T. Pullen, and J. J Bernard. Honorary, Messrs. N. B. Broughton, Josephus Daniels, J F. Towler, Dr. Charles Lee Smith, W. A. Myatt, J. S. Wynne, Joseph G. Brown, J. V. Simms, J. T. Jones, Jo. H. Weathers, C. P. Spruill, J. B. Pearce, and Jas. I. Johnson."
