MARY BEHRNS Mrs. Mary Behrns, of this city, passed away at 2:35 Wednesday afternoon in the University hospital in Omaha following a serious operation. She spoke a few words and passed away as if going to sleep. She had been critically ill for the past seven months. All that skilled doctors and loving hands could do failed in their final attempt to save her from death. Deceased was born to Mr. and Mrs. Nick Henn in Keywest, Iowa, having reached the age of 52 years, 4 months and 8 days at the time of her death. Later with her parents, she moved to Petersburg, where she was united in marriage. To this union were born two children, Mrs. Wm. Probst, now of St. Louis, Missouri, and John Behrns, of this city. Mrs. Behrns made her home with John and his family in this city. She was a woman of sterling qualities, a wonderful mother, kind friend to all and a hard working woman. Besides her children, who were both here, she leaves her mother, Mrs. Nick Heun, Sr., of Petersburg, and three sisters and four brothers, all being present at the funeral services. Relatives here were Mr. and Mrs. Ed. Loosebrock, Genevieve and Homan of Lincoln; from Petersburg were Mrs. Nick Henn, Sr., Joe Henn, Genevieve and Delbert Henn, Mr. and Mrs. Phil Mack, Marie and Jerome Mack, Mr. and Mrs. A. H. Brinkman and daughter, Arlene, Mr. and Mrs. John Henn, Rosamond and Raymond Henn, Mr. and Mrs. Nick Henn, Jr., Sylvester and Cryilla Henn. From Albion were Mr. and Mrs. A. P. Henn, and Mrs. Wm. Probst and daughter, Dolores, of St. Louis. Mrs. Behrns and son came to David City in 1916, where they have made their home ever since. She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary and a faithful member of St. Mary’s Church in this city where services were held on Saturday morning conducted by Father Sproll and Father O’Leary. Burial took place in St. Mary’s cemetery. Pall bearers were nephews of deceased, Raymond, Sylvester, Delbert Henn, Homer Loosbrock, Jerome Smith and Jerome Mack.
