WILBER NOTT The community was shocked and grieved last Saturday evening when the news was spread that Mrs. Wilbur Nott was dead. She had been ill for some time but it was not generally believed that death was sooner. The Notts have resided in this community for the past 26 years and have done much toward the development and the building of Antelope County. The deceased was a highly respected lady and her death is mourned by the entire community. The funeral was held from the Nott home Tuesday at 11 o'clock. Rev. K.W.G. Hiller preached in sympathetic and logical sermon. Interment was made at West Cedar Valley Cemetery. The service was largely attended by neighbors and friends. Mary Henry was born in Chatham, New York December 18th, 1853 and departed this life August 8, 1914 at her home north of Elgin, Nebraska, age 60 years, 7 months, 21 days. When a child, she with her parents moved to Wisconsin in 1855, where she grew to womanhood. She was married to Wilber Nott October 20th 1872 in Lodi, Wisconsin and to this union were born four children. The family moved from Wisconsin to Elgin Nebraska in March 1888. She leaves to mourn her departure three sisters and one brother. Her mother having departed this life twenty-two years ago and her father preceding her by only six weeks. Of her immediate family, she leaves to mourn her demise a husband, one son and three daughters, all of which reside in Elgin and were present at her demise. They are Walter Nott, Mrs. Ida Bishop, Mrs. Bertha Earing, and Miss Clara Nott.
