She was born in Mora, Dalarna, Sweden and married Peter Saispair in 1849. They emigrated to the USA in 1862. Peter drowned in the Elkhorn River about 10 years ago. She was buried at the Swaburg Cemetery, Hooper, NE. ----------------------------------------------------------- Jan. 11, 1908 Death of Mrs. Peter Saspair Widow of a Pioneer of Logan Township Dies after a Brief Illness. Mrs. Peter Saspair died at her home in Logan Township, in the Swaburg neighborhood, Friday morning. The funeral will be held from the residence Sunday at 2 o'clock with Rev. M. B. Harrison, pastor of the Congregational chuch at Scribner, officiating Mrs. Saspair had been ill only a day or so. She was taken with a cold and this speedlily developed in penumonia, which, owing to her enfeebled conditon from old age proved fatal. The deceased was a native of Sweden, where she was born 83 years and 4 months ago. She was married to Peter Saspair in December, 1849. She came with her husband to America in 1862, living in Detroit and Chicago until they came to Nebraska in 1864, when they settled on the farm in Logan Township where they lived at the death of both. Mr. Saspair died eight or nine years ago, beingthrown frm his wagon and drowned while on his way home from Hooper. As a pioneer Mrs. Saspair suffered all the inconveniences and hardship incident to such a life. The family first lived in a dug-out on thier claim, this being supplanted by a small frame house and then by a comfortable brick residence. She was the mother of nine children. She was greatly respected by all who knew her.
