Honore died Wednesday, January 28, 2004 at Heather Hill Health Care Center in Chardon. Mary Honore Casey was born March 26, 1911 in Cedar Rapids, IA, the daughter of George and Laura (Boyle) McLees. She graduated from St. Patrick's High School in Cedar Rapids and Clarke College in Dubuque, IA with a Bachelor of Science degree. Honore served a year of dietician internship at Cincinnati General Hospital in Cincinnati, OH. She was a member of the American Dietician's Association. In 1937 Honore was united in marriage to Joseph B. Casey at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Cedar Rapids. They lived in many different areas of the country as Mr. Casey was a member of the Federal Bureau of Investigation. In 1946 they returned to Osage where Mr. Casey started his law firm. Joseph B. Casey died in 1995. Honore was an active member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Lady of Good Counsel Study Club, Girl Scouts and many other community groups and activities. She enjoyed gardening, reading and traditional rug hooking. She is survived by a son James Michael Casey of Phoenix, AZ, two daughters Eileen Stout of Chadron, OH, JoAnn Johanns of Omaha, NE, six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Preceding Honore in death were her parents, her husband Joseph, one brother and one sister.
