Description	:	Mary Ida Coleman daughter of John and Mary Middaugh Shaver was born May 10, 1866 near North Henderson in Mercer C. Ill. and passed away at the Adair County Hospital Jan. 21, 1960 at the age of 93 years, 8 months and 11 days. In 1874 at the age of 8, she moved with her family from Illinois to Adair County, Iowa and settled on a farm 5 miles north of Fontanelle. Ill. and passed away at the Adair County Hospital Jan. 21, 1960 at the age of 93 years, 8 months and 11 days. In 1874 at the age of 8, she moved with her family from Illinois to Adair County, Iowa and settled on a farm 5 miles north of Fontanelle. She attended the United Brethren Church held in the school house at first, and in 1893 served as clerk of the First Congregational Church in Fontanelle, and as a Sunday School teacher in 1895 and 96. She was married to Richard Williamson on Oct. 14, 1897 and during their married life she joined and attended Otis Chapel Church where she also taught a Sunday school class. Mr. Williamson passed away in 1905. On August 20, 1913 she was married again to Wilson S. Coleman and the next year they moved to Indianola, Nebr. where they operated a hardware store for 4 years. In the spring of 1918 they returned to Fontanelle, and at that time she united with the Methodist Church of which she was still a member. Mr. Coleman passed away Aug. 6, 1929. She was a charter member of the G.A.R. organized in Fontanelle May 4, 1920 and when that disbanded she joined the Lents Relief Corps in which she held membership at the time of her death. She was also a member of the American Legion Auxilliary. She helped care for her sister, Ada and after her death on Sept. 19, visited short periods with her step relatives and on Nov. 28, 1956 came to the home of her nephew, Mr. and Mrs. Floyd Coleman with whom she made her home until her accident the 19th when she fell and broke her hip and was taken to the Adair County hospital where she passed away on Jan. 21st. Another full sister, Amanda Dennis passed away Sept. 15, 1953 and a half-brother, J. E. Froman in 1947. Survivors include one step son, John J. Coleman of Prescott; 4 half sisters, Dora Kestler of Griswold; Mrs. Prudence Whitney, Mrs. Henry (Ree) Bissell and Mrs. Elsie Porter all of Massena, one half brother, Robert Shaver of Cumberland, step children and step grandchildren, nephews and nieces and a host of friends.
