Description	:	Mary Inez Armstrong, 91, of Lincoln, passed away Aug. 26, 2013. Mary Inez Armstrong was born on June 1, 1922, in Blue Hill.She was the first of three daughters born to Oliver H. and Jesse M. (Wellman) Martin. She recently lost her husband of nearly 70 years, Marvin L. Armstrong. The couple married on Nov. 28, 1943. During World War II, Mary contributed to the war effort, working at a munitions plant in Hastings while her husband served overseas. Mary Inez Armstrong was born on June 1, 1922, in Blue Hill.She was the first of three daughters born to Oliver H. and Jesse M. (Wellman) Martin. She recently lost her husband of nearly 70 years, Marvin L. Armstrong. The couple married on Nov. 28, 1943. During World War II, Mary contributed to the war effort, working at a munitions plant in Hastings while her husband served overseas. After the war, the couple lived throughout the United States before settling in Fort Wayne, Ind., where they resided for 40 years, before moving to Lincoln. Mary was a devoted wife and mother. She loved taking care of her family, hosting bridge club and shopping. She was loved by all. She is survived by three children, Jill (Jan) Swank, of Rapid City, S.D., Gail (Mike) Winkler, of Slidell, La., and Drew (Shirai), of North Platte; six grandchildren, Tyler Swank, Daniel and Lauren Winkler and Holden (Shawnee), Spencer and Andrew Armstrong; and a sister, Barbara Wonka, of Grand Island. She was preceded in death by her husband and her sister, Marjorie Shaffer. Graveside services will be held at the Blue Hill Cemetery.
