Burial will be in te Phillips cemetery northeast of Emporia. Mrs. Davis was born July 9, 1861 in Cork, Ireland, a daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. James M. Stewart. She was married to Henry Davis in Abilene January 1, 1882, and they moved to Lyon county from Pennsylvania in 1888. She is survived by one son, James Davis, of the home; five daughters, Mrs. D.J. Volz, Reading, Mrs. Winnie Davis, Park Rapids, Minn., Mrs. May Dessert, Kansas City, Mo., Mrs. Carrie Howard, Winfield, Ia., and Miss Edith Davis, Parsons; 13 granddaughters, nine grandsons, and 27 great-grandchildren. Burial was in Phillips cemetery northeast of Emporia. Out-of-town relatives who attended the services were Mr. and Mrs. A.W. Houghton and Mable Houghton, Turner; Mrs. Floyd and Alice Houghton, Topeka; James Steen and daughter Mabel, Osage City; Sgt. E.M. Houghton, Fairbanks, Alaska; Mr. and Mrs. Fred Walkup, Neosho Rapids; Mr. and Mrs. Russell Davis and family, Baldwin; Mr. and Mrs. Melvin G. Davis and sons, Ellinwood; and Mrs. Ethelburt Davis, Dunlap.
