Braden, for more than 50 years a resident of Southeastern Washington, died Tuesday night in a local hospital. She was 84 years old. Born in Downing, Mo. July 21, 1868 the former Mary Jane Ashworth married William Braden March 24, 1887 in Missouri, and came west with her husband and family in 1900. Braden, for more than 50 years a resident of Southeastern Washington, died Tuesday night in a local hospital. She was 84 years old. Born in Downing, Mo. July 21, 1868 the former Mary Jane Ashworth married William Braden March 24, 1887 in Missouri, and came west with her husband and family in 1900. Until 1908 they farmed in Franklin County, coming to a ranch south of Walla Walla that year. They celebrated their golden anniversary on the farm in 1937. Upon their retirement in 1939 they moved to a home at 821 College Avenue, where Mrs. Braden was living at the time of her death. Her husband died October [24], 1943. Mrs. Braden was a member of the first Presbyterian Church. Survivors are a daughter, Mrs. E.E. Allen of Pasco, three sons, Clarence Braden and Clifford Braden of Walla Walla, and Charles Braden of Grants Pass, Ore., who is now unable to be with the family here because of serious illness. Also surviving are four grandchildren and five great-grandchildren; two sisters, Mrs. J.L. Edris of Kirksville, Mo., and Mrs. C.L. Ross of Downing, Mo., and two brothers, Will Ashworth and Jesse Ashworth of Walla Walla, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. The funeral will be Thursday afternoon in a Walla Walla chapel.
