Read More	SOURCE: THE WYOMING JOURNAL...APRIL 11, 1901...PAGE 4 Mary Jane Corbett was born in Clarion county, Penn, July 11, 1833. She grew to womanhood amid her native scenes and was married to Wm. H. Leech. In 1857 they moved to Iowa, choosing the beautiful valley in the south part of Scotch Groove township, Jones county, as their future home. Here they engaged in farming. About 13 years ago they left the old homestead and moved to Center Junction, where they have since resided. Six years ago Mrs. Leech broke her hip by falling upon an icy walk. She never recovered from the effects of this accident, but continued to suffer from it until it brought on an intense nervous affection, which finally caused her death. She died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. J.R.Stephenson, in Wyoming, April 2, 1901. Funeral services were held in the M.E. Church in Center Junction, April 5, after which her body was interred in the Scotch Grove Cemetery. Seven children, three sons and four daughters were born to Mr. and Mrs. Leech. One of the sons died in infancy, the other six children all reside in Jones county and were all present at their mothers burial. Besides her husband and children the deceased leaves two brothers and two sisters, and a large number of other relatives in Pennsylvania and Iowa. She was highly esteemed for her womanly, Christian qualities, for her loving fidelity to her family, and her faithfulness to her friends, all of whom unite in mourning the departure of one who was in its deepest sense a good woman.
