HARGAN Funeral services were held Monday at 2:30 p.m. at the Sutphen Funeral home for Mrs. Mary Jane Hargan, 78, who died Friday night at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Alice Pullen. Interment was in Villisca Cemetery. The Rev. E. M. Bueller was in charge of the services. Flower bearers were Mrs. Harold Peters and Mrs. Frank Taylor, and music was by Cecil Weaver, accompanied at the piano by Mrs. Grace Nordyke. Pall bearers were Judd Means, Paul fisher, Harold Peters, H. H. Nordyke, Ross Seckman, and M. A. Dickinson. Mary Jane Hatfield was born June 19, 1864 to Melvina and Henry Hatfield at Burbon, Indiana. At the age of eleven she went to Illinois to make her home with an aunt and it was there that she met and later in 1881, married John H. Hargan at Fithian. To this union were born seven children, two dying in infancy. In 1892 Mr. and Mrs. Hargan moved to Iowa and lived in and around Villisca until his death in 1916, when she moved to Villisca. She was a member of the Villisca Methodist Church. Surviving are five children, Mrs. Grace Baller, Truro, Iowa, Mrs. Stella Barrusch, Marshall, Missouri, Garney Haragn, Spence South Dakota, Mervin Hargan, Corning, Iowa, and Mrs. Alice Pullen, Villisca; sixteen grandchildren and twenty one great grandchildren. Austin, was born June 19, 1864 in Bourbon, Marshall, Indiana and died August 14, 1942 in Villisca, Iowa. She married John Henry Hargan on March 12, 1882 in Vermilion, Illinois. Children: Grace, Stella, Garney, Goldie, Mervin, Alisa, and Mary Alice. John died April 21, 1916. Archibald Baker, son of Balaam and Mary Emily Baker, age 72, born in Pulaski County, Missouri was married on September 26, 1923 in Red Oak, Iowa to Mary Jane Hatfield, 60, born in Borbon, Indiana to Melvina Austin and Henry Hatfield. They were married by J. L. Boyd, Minister of the Gospel. Witnesses were George Baker and Mrs. L. W. Scott
