Read More	#1 Mrs. Mary Jane "Jennie" (Turk) Charlesworth passed away Thursday morning, July 13, 1922. One of Osage's finest little mothers laid down her earthly burdens and slipped away into the land where there is no shadows. Since March 4, 1921, she has suffered intensely from a severe stroke of lightening, and yet, through it all, she has show so much patience that to care for her was only a loving ministry. All through her illness, in the home of her daughter, Mrs. Hungerford, she has had every care that loving hearts and hands could offer. Death came as a welcom release, and through their tears her children rise up and call her blessed, for her whole thought and her everyday life was an exemplification of the Spirit of Christ. Mary Jane Turk was born August 5, 1846 in Sussex, England to James and Ann Turk, coming to Black Earth, Wisconsin with her parents at the age of four years. In 1863 she was united in marriage to John Charlesworth who preceded her in death in 1917. In 1865 she came to Lime Springs with her husband and a year later to Osage, which has been her home ever since. To this union were born eight children, seven of who are living; Lillian Pelton, Lucretia Decker, Letitia Hungerford and Irving Charlesworth, all of Osage; Bert of Long Beach, California, Mary Preston, Los Angeles, laura Colgrove, Minneapolis and John who died in 1907. She will be sorely missed by her sister, Mrs. Harriett Haney, they were inseparable companions; also a devoted brother, James S. Turk of Black Earth, Wisconisn. Funeral services were held from the late home Sunday afternoon, July 16, conducted by the Reverend J. Irvine Walker, and she was laid to rest in the Osage Cemetry to await the Resurrection Morn. MARY CHARLESWORTH BURIED TODAY AT OSAGE OSAGE - July 15 - Mrs. Mary Charlesworth, who died Thursday morning at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Arthur Hungerford, was buried this afternoon at 4 o'clock. She was born in Sussex, England, August 5, 1846, and when 4 years of age came to Black Earth, Wisconsin. After her marriage to John Charlesworth, they moved to Nora Springs in 1865, in a covered wagon, and a year later to Osage, where she since had resided. She leaves seven children: Mrs. Lily Pelton, Mrs. Will Decker, Mrs. Arthur Hungerford and Irving Charlesworth, Osage; Bert Charlesworth, Long Beach, and Mrs. Mary Preston, Los Angeles, California, and Mrs. Laura Colgrove, Minneapolis; also a sister and brother, Mrs. Harriett Haney, Osage, and James Turk, Black Earth, Wisconsin.
