Mary Jane London Banta Adams Obituary Mary Jane London was born in Morgan Co., Ill. May 4th, 1841, died May 23, 1911, aged 70 years, 19 days. She was making her home at the time of her death with her daughter, Mrs. C. L. Zin, 4 1/2 miles south of Dallas, Iowa. Death was caused my tuberculosis. She came with her parents to Marion County in the year 1848. She was united in marriage to Smith Banta in the year 1859 who inlisted in the army and fell in battle in 1862. To this union two children were born, Mary Arabelle, now Mrs. Joseph Bingham and N. S. Banta, both of North Loup, Nebr. In 1865 she was united in marriage to W. W. Adams who departed this life May 26, 1909. To this union eight children were born; two dying in infancy. Those living are: John Q., of Butterfield, Minn.; A. A. and W. A. of Medora, Warren County, Iowa; Mrs. C. L. Zin, Mrs. W. C. Smith and Mrs. C. L. McCoy of Marion County, Iowa. She also leaves two sisters and two brothers; William London, of Carson, Iowa; N. S. London, of Knoxville; Mrs. Lucinda Kelley, of Lemars, Iowa and Mrs. Manerva Cooper, of Knoxville. Besides these are left a host of friends and relatives to mourn her departure. She was converted and joined the Methodist Church in early life, and lived a consistant christian life till called home. The funeral was conducted from the M. E. Church at Gosport by Rev. W. B. Cox of Dallas. The body was laid to rest in the Gosport Cemetery.
