Description	:	Mrs. Mary J. Greer, one of the oldest, best known, and most highly esteemed women of Canonsburg, died at the home of her son, Wesley Greer, Esq., West College street, last evening, January 25, 1906, at 11:55. Mrs. Greer was sick but a few days. On last Sabbath morning she walked to the Greenside Avenue United Presbyterian church and attended services, and in the afternoon she called at the home of Dr. and Mrs. J. B. Donaldson, and up to the time she returned home she was in her usual health. Later in the evening she complained of feeling unwell.... Read More	Mrs. Mary J. Greer, one of the oldest, best known, and most highly esteemed women of Canonsburg, died at the home of her son, Wesley Greer, Esq., West College street, last evening, January 25, 1906, at 11:55. Mrs. Greer was sick but a few days. On last Sabbath morning she walked to the Greenside Avenue United Presbyterian church and attended services, and in the afternoon she called at the home of Dr. and Mrs. J. B. Donaldson, and up to the time she returned home she was in her usual health. Later in the evening she complained of feeling unwell. On Monday morning she was worse, and the doctor was called. From that time on her condition was known to be serious; but on Thursday afternoon she seemed somewhat stronger and brighter. Later in the day, however, she began to fail rapidly, and at 11:55 she passed peacefully away. Mrs. Greer is survived by two sons, Wesley Greer, Esq., of West College street, and C. M. Greer of West Pike street. A third son died in infancy. Mrs. Greer's husband, Wesley Green Sr., who was long a prominent citizen of the Upper Chartiers valley, died in February 1891 nearly twenty-five ago. Mrs. Greer was the daughter or Culbert and Susan Manes, of North Strabane township, both of whom have been dead for a number of years. Mrs. Greer was for many years a member of the Greenside Avenue United Presbyterian church; and was a regular attendant upon the services, and took a deep interest in the welfare not only of the congregation and denomination to which she was a member, but also in the growth of the Master's Kingdom. The funeral services will be held at the residence of Mr. and Mrs. Wesley Greer, West College street, on Monday at 12 o'clock noon. The interment will be in the Oak Spring cemetery.
