Mary Jane daughter of Elizabeth and Griffin Cooper was born in Hancock Co., Ill ., Aug 4, 1848 and died at the home of her sister in law, Mrs. Retta Cooper June 17, 1929 at the age of 80 years, 10 months and 13 days. She came with her parents to Clarke Co, Iowa, in 1855. She was united in marriage with Thos. J. Barber Sept. 20, 1873. To this union was blessed with one child, Minnie, born October 13, 1875 and died Sept. 8, 1879 at the age of 3 years, 10 months and 15 days. Her companion also preceded her in death August 8, 1912. She resided in Clarke county until Oct 8, 1906 when she moved to Truro where she lived until March 1922 when she again came to Clarke Co, where she has since made her home. During her early life she gave her heart to God and has since lived a consistent Christian life. Aunt Moll, as she was lovingly called by all her friends, has been in failing health for a number of years and will be greatly missed by all who new her and loved her. She leaves to mourn her departure three nieces, Mrs. Frona Mitchell of Murray, Mrs. Edith Northrup of Burlington, Ia., and Mrs. Rose Agans of Albia; five nephews, Oda and Perry Cooper of Truro, Dave, Emerson and Lloyd Woodard of Loveland, Col., also one sister in law, Mrs. Retta Cooper of Truro and one brother in law Arison Woodard of Loveland, Colo., besides other relatives and a wide circle of Friends. She has gone to join the blest, In the realms beyond the sky, She has left this gloomy earth, For a brighter home on high. Long and patiently she suffered, Till the boon she craved was given, She has gone from friends on earth To join the ones in Heaven. Funeral services were conducted by Rev. Samuel Howe of Truro and interment was made in the Field cemetery. Winterset Madisonian, Winterset, Iowa June 27, 1929, Page 10 Mrs. Mollie Barber died Monday night, at the home of her sister-in-law, Mrs. Retta Cooper, where she had been making her home for several years. Funeral services were held from the home on Thursday afternoon, with interment at the Fields cemetery.
