Read More	Hampton Chronicle August 19, 1920 Franklin County Pioneer Called to Rest Mary Jane St. Clair was born in Erie County, N.Y. April 28, 1837 and died last Thursday, August 12, 1920 at the home of her daughter, Mrs. E. W. Schollian at Bradford, age 83 years, 3 months and 16 days. Her death was caused by pheumonia incurred by a fall several weeks ago. At the age of eight she moved with her parents from New York to Harvard, Illinois. In the fall of 1863 she came to Franklin County where with the exception of a few years spent in Nebraska she has lived the rest of her life. On April 6, 1864 she became the wife of T. W. Jones. She was the mother of eight children, two girls and six boys, one girl and five boys are living, a daughter dying in infancy and one son, Roy, passing away 10 years ago. Quite early in life she became a christian and united with the Baptist Church in Illinois, later transferring her membership to the First Baptist Church at Hampton of which she was a charter member and remained loyal to the end. She was truly a mother in the home, devoted to her husband and family, always shedding rays of christian love and sunshine around those whom she came in contact. Her husband and family were all with her when the end came, besides a host of friends who had the joy of knowing this sainted one, know wh has gone to a better land. Those left to mourn her loss are her aged husband, T.W. Jones, daughter, Mrs. E.W. Schollian and sons, Went Jones, of SD, Jay Jones of Mitchell, IA, and Mart Jones, C.B. Jones and H.E. Jones of Bradford. She was also survived by one brother A.D. St. Clair of Hampton. Died of pneumonia per cemetery record.
