Description	:	Mary Jane Thomson Witte of Schaller was born July 13, 1929 in Ida Grove to Jodie and Lillian Clark Thomson. She grew up on a farm northwest of Arthur and went to country school. She graduated from Arthur High School. After attending business college in Sioux City, she worked at the ASC office in Ida Grove. On Feb. 18, 1951 she married Edward Witte at United Methodist Church, Ida Grove. She was then confirmed in the Lutheran faith at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Schaller, where she was an active, working member for the rest of her life. All... Read More	Mary Jane Thomson Witte of Schaller was born July 13, 1929 in Ida Grove to Jodie and Lillian Clark Thomson. She grew up on a farm northwest of Arthur and went to country school. On Feb. 18, 1951 she married Edward Witte at United Methodist Church, Ida Grove. She was then confirmed in the Lutheran faith at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Schaller, where she was an active, working member for the rest of her life. All of their married life Ed and Mary Jane lived west of Schaller. She worked at Consolidated Popcorn Company for nearly 25 years. She was a member of St. Paul's Ladies Aid and C-Con Club. She served on the Schaller Public Library Board. Mary Jane loved to read, cook and especially enjoyed having coffee with her friends. Her family was blessed by her love and generosity. She is survived by her husband Edward; one daughter, Deb and her husband Denis Thompson of Webster City; one son Scott and his wife LaVonne of Rock Valley; grandchildren Hope Thompson and fiance Nathan Ribbey, Micah Thompson, Seth, Sara and Erica Witte; a sister-in-law, Connie (Mrs. R.D.) Thomson, Ida Grove; and a host of other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers Harold and R.D.; infant twins; and a granddaughter, Hannah Thomson.
