Description	:	Marie (Mary) Penner was born to Abraham G. and Margaretha Klassen Ensz on November 3, 1895, near Inman, Kansas. She departed this life on September 8, 1990, reaching the age of ninety-four years. She was born into a family of fifteen children, giving her the privilege of helping to care for her nieces and nephews, which she gladly did. In her teenage years she answered the call of the Lord, committing her life to Him and receiving forgiveness of her sins. Read More	Marie (Mary) Penner was born to Abraham G. and Margaretha Klassen Ensz on November 3, 1895, near Inman, Kansas. She departed this life on September 8, 1990, reaching the age of ninety-four years. She was born into a family of fifteen children, giving her the privilege of helping to care for her nieces and nephews, which she gladly did. In her teenage years she answered the call of the Lord, committing her life to Him and receiving forgiveness of her sins. She was baptized into the Church of God in Christ, Mennonite on December 27, 1914. We are thankful for Mother's personal testimony of an inner peace and assurance of salvation. She was joined in marriage to Isaac W. Penner on June 1, 1930, at Inman, Kansas. After their marriage they made their home in the Inman, Kansas, community. This union was blessed with one daughter and two sons. In 1965 they moved to South Dakota, making their home in Osceola. They enjoyed living close to their children and grandchildren. On September 15, 1969, Father was suddenly taken from her side, which left her very lonely. She often expressed her longing to join him in heaven someday. After Mother's health failed she was faithfully taken care of by Ruby Schmidt, enabling her to remain in her own home for a few more years. After suffering several light strokes, she was admitted to the Huron Regional Medical Center on May 2, 1990. For additional care she became a resident of the Violet Tschetter Nursing Home, Huron, South Dakota, where she received kind and loving care until the Lord called her home. Those left to cherish her memory are: her two sons: Clarence and wife Betty, and Abe and wife Clarabel, both of rural Iroquois, South Dakota; nine grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren; one sister, Helen Hiebert of Hillsboro, Kansas; one brother-in-law, Tony Nikkel of Inman, Kansas; and many nieces and nephews. Those preceding her in death are: her husband, one daughter, Irene, two years old, her parents, eight brothers, and five sisters. Funeral services were held on September 11, 1990, at the Faith Mennonite Church, Bancroft, South Dakota. Ministers Sylvester Unruh, Raymond Ensz, and Abe Nikkel officiated. Burial was in the adjoining church cemetery.
