Iowa City, Dec. 26 - Special - The Family reunion of the Burich family, planned for Christmas, was knocked in the head when Mrs. Mary Burich, age 7-, died as she sat in a pew at the Catholic church. The Burich family had prepared for the reunion and a number of friends and relatives had gathered at the home. Mrs. Burich was found dead in the pew at the close of the services. Heart failure is the supposed cause. Obituary from The Evening Gazette, 12/27/1913: Iowa City Woman Dies While Attending Mass Special to The Gazette Iowa City, Iowa. Dec. 27 - Mrs. Mary Burich was seized with an atack of heart falure while attending mass in St. Wenceslaus church, and died soon after reaching her home. A physician in the church at the time took care of her. Mrs. Burich was an old resident of Iowa City. She is survived by seven children, six daughters and a son.
