She was the widow of Lieut. L.A. Stocking, who preceded her in death a few years ago. She was born in Iowa City April 27, 1871, and grew to womanhood here. Read More	Obituary from Iowa City Press Citizen, 4/26/1939: Death Takes Mrs. Stocking Funeral Services For Local Resident To Be Friday Mrs. Jennie Stocking, 69, of Iowa City, died at Mercy hospital at 2 o'clock this morning. She was the widow of Lieut. L.A. Stocking, who preceded her in death a few years ago. She was born in Iowa City April 27, 1871, and grew to womanhood here. Following her marriage to Lieutenant Stocking, the couple lived in Des Moines. Mrs. Stocking returned to Iowa City three years ago. She was a member of the Spanish War veterans' auxiliary, the Royal Neighbors, the Catholic Daughters of America and St. Wenceslaus church. Mrs. Stocking is survived by two sons, Leigh A., of Cleveland, Ohio, and Walter F. of Chicago; five sisters, Mrs. James Hotka of Iowa city, Mrs. Charles Braun of Seattle, Wash., Mrs. Joseph Barth of Waterloo, Mrs. J.R. Hayes of Cedar Rapids and Mrs. Henry Westbrook of Aurora, Ill.; one brother, Ed M. Burich of Iowa City;two grandsons and many nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at St. Wencelaus church at 9 o'clock Friday morning. Burial will be at St. Joseph's cemetery. The remains are at the Hohenschuh mortuary.
