Mrs. Pearson was born November 11, 1878 in Warren County, IL, the daughter of John and Burzetta Almond. She moved to South Dakota as a young girl with her family. She was united in marriage to Emil Pearson November 22, 1896. To this union nine children were born. They farmed and ranched in Hand County until their retirement in the late 1930's.... Pearson, 99, long time resident of Hand County died Wednesday, Dec. 28 at the Prairie Good Samaritan Center. Mrs. Pearson was born November 11, 1878 in Warren County, IL, the daughter of John and Burzetta Almond. She moved to South Dakota as a young girl with her family. She was united in marriage to Emil Pearson November 22, 1896. To this union nine children were born. They farmed and ranched in Hand County until their retirement in the late 1930's. The resided in Miller until her husband's death n 1951 at which time she moved to Ree Heights. She had been a resident of Prairie Good Samaritan Center since 1965. She was a member of the United Church of Christ Congregational, Ree Heights. Surviving her death are four daughters, Mrs. Mary Dahl, Medford, OR, Mrs. Grace Van Rosendale, Madison, Mrs. Mark (Edna) Hibbison, Sioux Falls and Mrs. Orville (Marion) Hill, Ree Heights. Sixteen grandchildren, many great and great-great-grandchildren; one sister, Mrs. Maud Redelfs, Marysville, WA and four half-sisters. Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by one son, four daughters, four brothers, one sister, one half brother and three half sisters. Funeral services were conducted Friday, Dec. 30 at Reck Funeral Home with Rev. Jose Resurreccion officiating. Pall bearers were Merlyn Van Rosendale, Edward Hargens, Charles Hibbison, Kenneth Van Rosendal, John P. Meyer and Preston Almond.
