Death came Christmas day at 1:30 to Mrs. Mary K H. Frank, 61, wife of George H. Frank, Sr., of Laurel. Mrs. Frank was in a Billings Hospital and had been ill for the past two months. She was born July 6,1888 in Kautz, Russia, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Adam Frickel. She married George H. Frank in Russia in 1907 and they came to the United States in 1912. They lived on a ranch three and a half miles northeast of Laurel until 1942 when they moved into town and resided since at 309 Third avenue. Mrs. Frank was a life-long member of the German Congregational church. Survivors are the widower, eight sons and four daughters. The sons are George H. Frank, Jr., of Billings, Alex, Henry, Jake, Phillip, and David all of Laurel, Herman of Miles City and Victor H. of the United States navy, who is stationed at San Francisco. The daughters are Mrs. Theodore Fichtner, Mrs. Sterling Brown and Miss Dorothy Frank of Laurel and Mrs. Clarence Rupp of Pasco, Wash. Services were conducted Wednesday at 2 p. m. at the German Congregational Church. Rev. H. C. Haemmelmann flew home from Denver Tuesday to officiate at the services. Pallbearers were David Frank, Jacob Frank, George N. Frank, Phillip P. Frank, Sr., Phillip Frank, George Schreiner, Phillip Hart, and John Rupp. Laurel Funeral home was in charge and burial was in the Laurel cemetery. Vocal music at the funeral was by Margaret Frank, Mrs. Virginia Meyers, Mrs. Amelia Frank, Mrs. Amelia Vogel and Mrs. Lydia Reiter who sang "There Is Rest at the Cross For You" and "It Is Well With My Soul." Sister Maria Katharina Frank, daughter of Adam Frickel and Maria Katharina, born Hardt, was born on 6 July 1888 at Kautz, Russia. As a child she received Holy Baptism and was also confirmed. In 1912 she came to America and made her home in Laurel, Mont. She married George H. Frank in 1907. Fourteen children were born, and two of her children died before her. The deceased had a blessed life, even though there were many hard times, until the last days of her life, where she needed much medical help. The last days of her life were filled with pain, suffering, and grief. The doctors kept trying because she had leukemia, but could not find any help for her. She died on Christmas Day, 25 Dec 1949, at 1:30 in the afternoon in St. Vincent Hospital at the age of 61 years, 6 months, and 10 days. Sister Frank devoted her life to serving God for 12 years, and she used her God-given talents to serve Him until her death. She was a faithful member of our church since 1912, and she attended all church services and prayer meetings. Her passing is mourned by her husband and eight sons: George, Alex, Henry, Jacob, Phillip in Laurel, Herman in Miles City, and Victor in the U. S. Navy; four daughters: Mrs. Theo. Fichtner, Mrs. Sterling Brown, and Dorothy Frank in Laurel, and Mrs. Clarence Rupp in Pasco, Wash., 23 grandchildren, and many friends.
