She was born into this life on October 20, 1922 in Champaign County to Virgil C. and Crystal (Lee) Blue. She attended and graduated from Westville schools in 1940, graduated from Moore Business College in Urbana in 1941 and following the raising of her children, received her Bachelor's Degree from Wittenberg University and Master's Degree from Miami University. Read More	Mary Lee Eichelberger October 20, 1922 - January 20, 2010 Mary Lee (Blue) Eichelberger departed this life on January 20, 2010 to begin her Spiritual life. She was born into this life on October 20, 1922 in Champaign County to Virgil C. and Crystal (Lee) Blue. She attended and graduated from Westville schools in 1940, graduated from Moore Business College in Urbana in 1941 and following the raising of her children, received her Bachelor's Degree from Wittenberg University and Master's Degree from Miami University. She taught school for several years at Pitchin Elementary and then completed her teaching career at Possum Elementary, retiring after 25 years. She was employed by General Materials for several years before teaching. She and her husband James enjoyed traveling, visiting all 50 States and 36 foreign countries, with her last trip being on the historic Route 66 in the Spring of 2006. She was a member of the Rising Star Council of the Daughters of America, local Garden Clubs, Farm Bureau, local, state and national Educational Associations, Ohio Reading Association, Champaign County Quilting Guild and was a 4-H leader when her children were small. She was raised in the Westville United Methodist Church and has been a member of the Pitchin United Methodist Church since her marriage in 1942. There she served in several positions, teaching classes and singing in the choir, as well as serving as president of the Springfield District United Methodist Women. Mary leaves behind to cherish her memory: her husband of 67 years, James Walter Eichelberger, children and spouses Sally (Wayne) Adams of Roanoke, Virginia, Sonya (James) Ryhal and John (Diane) Eichelberger all of Springfield, 7 grandchildren (Chris and James Ryhal, Eric and Justin Adams, Beth Eichelberger, Chaylee (Nick) Liberator and Sara (Rob) Edwards, 2 great-granddaughters Olivia Edwards and Megan Ryhal, and 5 sisters Elizabeth Casey, Ruth Bishop, Eva Barger, Vivian (Ivan) Timmons and Phyllis Hakes, as well as many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents. Funeral arrangements are being made by Jackson, Lytle, Williams Funeral Home, 2425 North Limestone with calling hours from 6 – 9 PM, Saturday, Jan. 23 at the funeral home. A celebration of Mary's life will be held at Pitchin United Methodist Church at 3:00 pm, Sunday, Jan. 24, with Pastor Paul Price officiating. Memorial contributions may be made to Pitchin United Methodist Church. Interment in Garlough Cemetery at a later date.
