Cause of death is said to have been a stroke. She was born in Russia Dec. 4, 1871, a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Peter Leichner. She moved to Argentina in 1894. She was married there to Henry Batt in 1895. The family came to Lincoln, NB., in 1903 and to Laurel, MT., in 1908 where he lived until 1909. They homesteaded on the Huntley Project in 1911. In 1939 they moved to Billings where Mr. batt died in 1948. Mrs. Batt returned to Huntley in 1954 to live with her son. The deceased was a member of the Worden Congregational Church. Survivors besides the sons in Huntley and Laurel, include two brothers, Phillip and George Leichner, both of Argentina; two sisters in Argentina; seven grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren. Funeral services were held at the Worden Congregational Church at 2 p.m. Tuesday, the Rev. Herbert Wenz, church pastor officiating. Burial will be in the Pleasantview Cemetery, Ballantine, MT.
