Read More	Age: 37 years & 23 days When Mary Lillian died her only daughter (my Mom age 11) had to take over the house and raising the youngest son, Fred (almost 6 years old.) She was the daughter of James and Julia Steen First wife of Clarence Lawson Children of Clarence and Mary Lillian Lawson: Ed - Jim - Bill - Howard - Verona (Beheler) and Fred Mama told me that when Mary Lillian was young she was walking by Union Mill and a "mean old boy" threw bobbin out a window and it hit her on the temple area of her head. It caused her to have bad headaches for the rest of her life. Mary Lillian was a small built person, probally didn't weigh over 90 pounds and wore a size three in shoes. The day she died, she talked to each of her children and told them she was dying and she loved them. The child in the picture with her is her youngest son Fred. ****************** Obituary from the Union Daily Times: Funeral services for Mrs. Mary Lawson, age 37, passed away at her home this morning, Union Route # 4 after weeks of illness. Will be held Friday afternoon at 2 o'clock at Duckpond Church by the Rev. T.D. Toler officiating. Interment following in church yard. She is survived by her husband A.C. Lawson and the following children: Edward, James, William, Verona and Fred Lawson all of Union. One brother Russell Steen of Pacolet, S.C.
