Read More	Mary Lou Kagels Timberman, age 87, of Miles City, Montana passed away Thursday, April 29, 2010 at the Friendship Villa in Miles City, Montana. Mary Lou was born on February 25, 1923 in Miles City, the daughter of Helen & Frank Kagels. Mary Lou lived all her life in Miles City and attended grade school and high school here. Mary Lou married Rene Ottoy in 1940 in Miles City and they had five children; Richard, Mary, Jan, Linda and Susan. In 1971, Mary Lou married Mel Timberman of Miles City. Mary Lou worked at the Eagles Manor and was a member of the Eagles Auxiliary - A.A.R.P. She enjoyed sewing, bowling, dancing, fishing, and gardening. She especially enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren. Celebrating her life, we will remember certain things she accomplished and her compassionate characteristics. We remember her undying love for animals. When living on the farm, she used to rescue countless stray dogs and cats. She was very gifted at home making. She used to make wonderful meals for the family, including homemade breads we all loved so much. She was so proud of her craft and often asked us if it were good. If we did not answer, she asked us again! She introduced some of us to organic gardening. Her love of and knowledge of that was progressive for her times. She introduced to her children and others many books on the subject of caring for the earth and organic living. She believed in the green movement before it was popular. She had organic gardens and orchards during her entire lifetime. She made it a natural for all of us to respect the earth and be healthy. She enrolled us in 4-H and taught us that helping others was a valuable asset to have. We realized how important education was by her viewpoint of its value. In reminiscing we can picture those many birthday parties she made so special for us, inviting our classmates out to the farm for them. We would pack up the birthday lunch, all get into the back of the pickup, and head for the hills. There we would have a picnic lunch and bask in the sun, reveling at the beauty of the country. The city classmates thought they were in heaven! She expected a high standard of living from us and we understand the value of that as we, ourselves mature. Mary Lou is survived by four children, Janet (Don) Wall of New Richmond, WI, Linda Regan of La Habra, CA, Mary (Wiley) Snell and Richard (René ) Ottoy all of Miles City, MT; three step-daughters, Donna (Oscar) Ronning of Dickinson, ND, Ruby (Leo) Gottwald, Melva (Ed) Curnan, and step-son James Timberman and loved one Linda Ewalt all of Miles City, MT; 24 grandchildren, 42 great grandchildren, 12 great great grandchildren, and a sister-in-law, Bonnie (Ken) Bosacker of Billings, MT. Mary Lou was preceded in death by husband Mel Timberman, daughter Susan Messer and her parents.
