| Description | : | Mary "Mollie" Louisa Lane was the daughter of Mary Ann Henry Barkwell Lane and Colonel Walter Gardner Lane. Her first husband, Richmond tobacconist Charles Lewis Hobson (1836-1865), died at sea in Dec 1864, a passenger on the blockade-runner paddle steamer "Leila" that sunk in a storm off the coast of Wales. Mollie Hobson was a mother of three young children and 4 months pregnant when her husband died.
