The funeral arrangements have not been made but the funeral will probably take place on Friday. Mrs. Betournay is one of the pioneers of Concordia, and she has lived to see many changes take place here. Of French birth, she came here with the many French settlers who came to Kansas from Canada and Illinois and she spent the remainder of her days in Concordia. Her husband died several years ago, and since then she has lived with her children, a calm and peaceful life after the many hardships of pioneer life. She is survived by two sons, Ed and Med, who live in this city and three daughters, Mellie, and Annie, who live at home and Mrs. Emma Eells, who lives in the country. Mrs. Betournay was a devout Roman Catholic and her life has been lived according to the rules of her faith. She was the mother of three daughters, Mellie, Annie who live at home and Mrs. Emma Eels, who lives south of Town. Ed and Med Betournay are her two sons. Mrs. Betournay came to Concordia in the early days and she was a woman who was held in the highest esteem in her circle of acquaintances.
