On May 6, 1868, he was united in marriage to Miss Mary Beauregard, and of this union were born nine children, six of whom survive him. Read More	Concordia Daily Kansan Monday January 28, 1907 Page 1 Funeral of Late Peter Betournay Today Peter Betournay was born in St. Mary, Canada, January 3, 1846 and died at his home in Concordia January 27, 1907. On May 6, 1868, he was united in marriage to Miss Mary Beauregard, and of this union were born nine children, six of whom survive him. Mr. and Mrs. Betournay removed to Kansas in 1879 and to Concordia March 12, 1885. About two weeks ago, Mr. Betournay was seized with a severe stroke of paralysis, which rendered him almost entirely helpless and totally blind. Although he recovered his sight before his death, very little hopes have been entertained for his recovery, and at twelve o’clock on Saturday night, he passed away very peacefully. The funeral occurred at ten o’clock Monday morning from the Cathedral and the impressive burial services of the Catholic church were conducted by the Rev. Father Gill, and the interment was in the Catholic cemetery. The six surviving children, all of whom were present at the time of his death are: Nellie, of Chicago, Ill.; Edward, Anna, Mrs. Lizzie Brosseau, Emma and Ameddia, all of Concordia, Kansas. George and Miss Ida Beauregard, of St. Joseph, Kansas; and Fred Eels, of Meredith attended the funeral services. The deceased was a faithful and devoted husband, a kind and devoted father, and to all who had the privilege of intimate acquaintance, a strong and true friend, and his departure will be most sincerely mourned. The Kansan joins with numerous friends in extending sincere sympathy to the bereaved family.
