Read More	Mary Hancock February 8, 1930 - February 8, 2022 Obituary for Mary Hancock Mary Lucille Hancock, 92, of Bloomfield, Iowa passed away on February 8, 2022 (Her 92nd Birthday) at the Bloomfield Care Center. She was born on February 8, 1930 in Davis County to Derrell Floyd "Shook" and Annie E. Bennett Jones. She married Charles Eddie Hancock on June 7, 1947 in Lancaster, Missouri. He passed away on September 13, 2006. Mary worked for McGraw-Eddison in Centerville for several years. She would later get a degree in business from Indian Hills and sell Avon. A supportive and loving wife, she spent several years taking care of her husband full-time before his passing. She was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother; her time spent with her family was always special to her. Mary also enjoyed gardening, canning vegetables, watching Lifetime movies, listening to Bluegrass music, and quilting. She was an excellent seamstress and made clothing for herself and family members. She was a member of the Bloomfield Christian Church. She is survived by two daughters, Shelia (Steve) Armstrong of Marshalltown, Iowa, Cindy (Dave) Eakins of Bloomfield; four grandchildren, Lisa (Jim Zaleski) Zimmerman of Little Elm, Texas, Tammy (Col. Jacob) Brown of Fort Leavenworth, Kansas, Kevin Eakins of Moulton, Iowa, Katie Eakins of Bloomfield; four great-grandchildren, Noah and McKenzie Brown, Tana Eakins, Lane Boyd; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; infant great-grandson; four brothers, Derrell Jones, L. Max (Vivian) Jones, Leland (Olive) Jones, infant Edwin Jones; and a sister, Cathy (Joe) Bain. Graveside services will be at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, February 11, 2022 at the IOOF Cemetery in Bloomfield with Sonny Smyser officiating. No visitation is planned. A memorial has been established to the Bloomfield Care Center Activity Fund and may be mailed to: Mary Hancock Memorial, 605 W. Chestnut St., Bloomfield, Iowa 52537.
