Description	:	Mary Lucille Smith Maroney Johnson was the daughter of Thomas G. and Lucy (Pretty Weasel) Smith. She was born February 2, 1921 and passed away on November 29, 2015. She lived 94 years and 9 months. She believed in hard work and spent 35 years driving 60 miles a day to cook for the children at Swiftbird Day School. Her hearty laughter brought a smile to everybody's face. She loved all people and always showed concern for their families. She beamed with pride over her son, Greg. Later in life, her memory erased the present hours and she loved to talk about her cowboy father and four brothers. Their daily life was riding horses and moving from rodeo to rodeo. Mary was married for 27 years to George Enoch Maroney. In 1969, she found the love of her life, Abner Johnson. After 45 years, they danced their way into Heaven. Mary is survived by her children: George (Wilma) Maroney, Fulton MO, Dixie McGrath, Lehigh Acres, FL, Gerrene Maroney, Indio, CA, Cheryl (Bill) Hanson, Sioux Falls, SD, Greg Maroney, Albuquerque, NM, Denise Maroney (Jon Brend) Mequon, WI, and Wendel (Karla) Johnson, Watertown, SD; 19 grandchildren; and 22 great grandchildren. Mary was "tickled pink" over the birth of every one of her grandchildren and thought each one was so special. She loved being a mother and grandmother.
