Description	:	Mrs. John H. Darnold, for thirty-seven years a resident of Villisca, died Friday morning at 2:45 o’clock at her home in this city. Mary Louella Hedges was born in Circleville, Ohio, September 25, 1853 and was 74 years old at her death. Darnold, for thirty-seven years a resident of Villisca, died Friday morning at 2:45 o’clock at her home in this city. Mary Louella Hedges was born in Circleville, Ohio, September 25, 1853 and was 74 years old at her death. When she was but an infant her mother died and the being was sent to an aunt in Des Moines County, who reared her to womanhood. While living with her aunt she was married to John H. Darnold on May 12, 1872. They lived in Louisa County until 1888 when they came to Villisca to make their home and have continued to reside here since that time. To this union eight children were born, four of whom died in infancy. Those surviving are W. Q., Thos. B., and Jack A. Darnold, and Mrs. W. C. Still of Villisca. Besides her husband she leaves also five grandchildren. Mrs. Darnold united with the Methodist Church more than forty years ago and for thirty-five years was a member of that church in Villisca. The funeral was held Sunday morning at 10 o’clock at the home with Rev. J. L. Boyd in charge of the service. The singing was by the Misses Virginia Kehr and Verna Winer and the pall bearers were Frank Johnson, Frank O’Leary, Lee Stallings, Joe Graves, S. C.
