Mrs. Higgins had worked at Duckwall's in Abilene, F&A Food Sales and the Cloud County Extension Office, which she managed until her death. She also had been involved with 4-H, the Cloud County Fair and the judging program with the extension office. She was born Aug. 20, 1953, in Concordia, the daughter of Birch Clark and Martha Alice Rush. She graduated from Concordia High School and Beloit Vocational Technical School in Beloit. Mrs. Higgins was a member of Women of the Moose. She married Willie Higgins on June 20, 1998, in Salina. He survives. Other survivors include two stepsons, Curtis Higgins, Concordia, and Jason Higgins, Topeka; two brothers, Wayne Clark, Manhattan, and Bill Clark, Dalles, Ore.; and a sister, Treva Mayfield, Phoenix. Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Chaput-Buoy Funeral Chapel in Concordia. Burial will be in Hollis Cemetery in Hollis. Mrs. Higgins will lie in state at the funeral chapel after 9 a.m. Friday, where visitation will be from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to the Cloud County 4-H Youth Fund and sent in care of the funeral chapel.
