Description	:	OBITUARY. Mary Morris was born December 25, 1836 in Winton (sic) county (sic), Ohio, and died at Nelson, Nebraska, April 3d, 1919, at the age of 83 years, 3 months and 7 days. Before the Civil War she was married to David Moore. To this union were born four children, three of whom survive her. They are William Moore, North Platte, Martha J. Townsend and Nancy L. Read More	OBITUARY. Mary Morris was born December 25, 1836 in Winton (sic) county (sic), Ohio, and died at Nelson, Nebraska, April 3d, 1919, at the age of 83 years, 3 months and 7 days. Before the Civil War she was married to David Moore. To this union were born four children, three of whom survive her. They are William Moore, North Platte, Martha J. Townsend and Nancy L. Townsend both of Carpenter, Ohio. Her husband died at Andersonville prison. Five years after the war she was married to William Morton of Wilksville, Ohio. Three children were born to this union: Mittie Cole who died at Los Angeles, Calif.; Eva Beaver, Alliance, Nebr.; and Nettie Moss Nelson, Nebr.; at whose home she lived for several years. She followed the profession of a nurse, and did all she could to allay suffering, to assist in all things for the good and pleasure of others. She was a kind mother and loving wife. She united with the Christian church at Norton, Kansas, but on account of failing health was unable to attend for some time. Besides her children she leaves several grand children and great grand children, and a host of friends to mourn her death. Deceased was also a member of the Eastern Star lodge at Norton. The funeral service was conducted by Rev. A.J. Dressler, assisted by Rev. V.E. Shirley, at the Presbyterian church Sunday afternoon at three o'clock.
