Description	:	Mary was born to James and Kathryn Ryan and was the youngest of seven children*(see note below) Mary was united in marriage to John Campbell Flor on June 1, 1946. Mary was the third generation of Irish immigrants Henry and Mary Stanton, who found their way to O’Neil, Nebraska in 1867. Read More	Mary was born to James and Kathryn Ryan and was the youngest of seven children(see note below) Mary was united in marriage to John Campbell Flor on June 1, 1946. Mary was the third generation of Irish immigrants Henry and Mary Stanton, who found their way to O’Neil, Nebraska in 1867. Mary’s parents moved to Bonesteel, South Dakota, when Mary’s father, James, was selected to be the Railroads Depot Agent. Mary and her siblings grew up in this small town and have shared wonderful stories of their life living in the train depot. After Mary graduated high school in 1941 she moved to Yankton, South Dakota to attend Mount Marty College. She moved to Omaha later and took a job at the Federal Land Bank. Mary met her husband John in Omaha and after they wed, they moved to John’s home town farm in Valley, Nebraska. Mary was first and foremost a loving mother to eight children, raising them in Valley and moving to Elkhorn in 1971. While raising her children Mary worked as a secretary at Robinson Seed Company in Waterloo, Nebraska for 22 years. She loved her work and friends she made during her tenure. Mary was a devout Catholic who raised her children in the same faith, never missing mass for any reason, (nor allowing any excuses from her children). Mary was a fabulous cook who loved entertaining. She and John were members of the Valley Bridge Club that stayed together as a group for over 25 years. Mary and John were devoted Cornhusker fans as season ticket holders dating back to the early 1960s. She was also an avid reader, who loved crossword puzzles. Upon her retirement she volunteered for several years at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Elkhorn. Survived by: Children: John (Deb) Flor, Kathy, (Jimmy) Burford, Debby (Lynn) Plambeck, Tom (Lynette) Flor, Mike Flor, Patrick (Susan) Flor, Ruie (Bret) Whiteley and David (Sandra) Flor Brother: Denny Ryan (age 99) 19 Grandchildren and 19 great grandchildren Reichmuth Funeral Home Dec 2019 1910 and 20 Census list her siblings as Henry J.
